Hell Bent on War
What would you say if you heard that The Bush administration spurned a possible negotiated peace deal with Iraq before the war? Based on reports from ABC and other news sources, this may well be what went down.
If there’s any truth to this story, it appears Hussein’s government was willing to capitulate to nearly all of the Bush administration’s demands before so much as the first bomb was dropped. What’s more, it would mean Bush threw away what could have been a diplomatic victory (that would have given his presidency a boost) in favor of the mess we now have.
