U.S. Kills More Afghan Children

Oops. This can’t be creating a lot of good will.

A US spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Bryan Hilferty, told reporters in Kabul on Wednesday that the crushed bodies of the six children were found at a compound 20 kilometres (12 miles) east of Gardez, in Paktia Province.

Two adults’ bodies were also found when ground forces searched the area on Saturday.

He said there had been no indication that civilians were at the scene before US forces launched their raid and he suggested the victims were partly to blame for being at a site used by militants to store munitions.

I wonder if “They shouldn’t have been there” will sound like an acceptable excuse to the Afghan people. Just more fuel for future terrorists.
