No surprises here, but the Virginia Jury in the Malvo case has spared his life. No complaints from me, as I’m agains the death penalty. Given the magnitude of the crimes, I don’t have a problem with him being locked away for life.
My guess was that he would not get the death penalty in part because of his age, and in part because his attornies made it part of their case that he had been influence in large part by John Muhammed. It may not have been enough to get him a not-guilty-by-reason-of-insanity verdict (thank goodness), but it was apparently enough to spare him the death penalty.
