Obsession

OK. It is now getting to be an obsession. One more day and someone will have to schedule an intervention.

It’s the MP3 question. Tomorrow is the day that I buy one, either online or in real time. Just out of curiousity, I Metor’d over to Pentagon City Mall during my lunch break just to suss out the prospects of making a real time buy. Circuit city had nothing but iPods and two different versions of the RCA Lyra (which I ruled out early on).

So, off to Best Buy. They had iPods , too, along with the RCA Lyra, the Rio Karma (which looks much smaller than I thought it would be), and only the 40GB version of the Nomad Zen.

40GB. Well, I wanted 30GB. But for a little more money I could have 40GB and have it in my hand tomorrow. Or I could order it and wait a few more days for it to arrive. Choices, choices.

I think I’ll just buy the 40GB tomorrow and be done with it already. It’s the same product, with more space than I could possibly ever use up on music.

Just an reminder-if you get it at Best Buy, get the customer service plan. That way if you bang it up around town you can swap it for a new one. I don’t remember what it cost for mine, but given my ADD tendency to forget that I have it in a bag that I’m lugging around I expect to break it and picked up the extended warranty.

Glad to see you finally made a choice.

I think I’ll get an iPod Mini soon for myself. It’s as much about the style as the capacity for me.

BTW, have you tried Fry’s Outpost.com? You may be able to get it overnight and for less (and maybe something extra for free)
