On the Zen

Nothin’ But the Blues…

I’m just about to head out of the office, to an appointment with my locitician. It’s time for some serious hair maintenance, with all the new growth that’s come in since my last visit. I’m looking forward to the long ride, because I’ll be listening to music on the Nomad Zen on the way.

For some reason, lately I’ve been in the mood to listen to some old blues. For weeks actually. Currently, the most often heard playlist on my Zen is one called “Bluesmen.” It’s long enough to take me to work and back home in the evening. On the way to work this morning I heard:

  • Crossroad Blues – Robert Johnson
  • Preachin’ Blues – Robert Johnson
  • Me and the Devil Blues – Robert Johnson
  • Delta Blues – Son House
  • Jim Crow Blues – Leadbelly
  • Early One Morning – Memphis Slim
  • Back Door Man – Howlin’ Wolf
  • Evil – Howlin’ Wolf
  • I’ll Be Around – Howlin’ Wolf
  • Smoketack Lightenin’ – Howlin’ Wolf
  • Wang Dang Doodle – Howlin’ Wolf
  • Got my Mojo Workin’ – Muddy Waters
  • Baby Please Don’t Go – Muddy Waters
  • I’m Your Hoochie Coochie Man – Muddy Waters
