A year ago today, the Bush Administration was making its final push toward war in Iraq. We know now that much of what we were told about the threat that Iraq posed was untrue. And rather than own up to their distortion of the facts, Bush administration officials are denying they ever said such things.
The beauty part, which I wanted to share here, is that the email included a link to a video of Donald Rumsfeld stuttering and stammering as he tried to deny that anyone in the administration ever said that Iraq was an “immenent threat” or an “immediate threat” to the U.S., only to have his own words thrown right back at him.
It’s a thing of beauty.
