My first question, following news of Reagan’s death, is this: Does this in any way help the Bush and the Republicans in the polls, or in November?
I know it’s probably gauche to ask this so soon after his death, but I can’t help wondering. One thing’s for sure, we can expect the ‘pubs to pull out all the stops to honor him at their convention.
Maybe this is symbolically the beginning of the end of the whole conservative era.
Helps Bush, especially if we liberals can’t be kind to Reagan. Talk about good guy patriot public service. Let the historians tell the truth. Kind words, picture of Kerry paying respect in the rotunda. Enough.
