Things That Happen When You Blog
It’s funny, the things that that happen when you blog. Sometimes I forget how public this blog is, and that anyone anywhere might be reading it at any time. A couple of weeks ago, I came home from work and checked my email like I do every evening. In my inbox, an unusual email caught my attention. I read it, and it was from a progressive political/internet consulting firm here in D.C. and it concerned a potential position with the firm as a blogmaster/web production manager working with a number of the groups on their client list. They were interested in talking to me about the position. It took a minute before I realized that they’d found me through my blog.
Now we fastforward a couple of weeks and two interviews later. After meeting with several people from the firm, and finding out more about the job, I was definitely interested and excited about the position. I decided I wanted it. And today I got the news that they wanted me for the job. I happily accepted the offer. So, I also had to serve notice at my current job. I told my boss today, and I’ll let my coworkers in on it tomorrow.
I have to admit, it’s an interesting, exciting turn of events, and I’m looking forward to getting started on the new job since it will combine two big interests of mine: the web/blogging and progressive politics. And working in the realm of progressive politics, particularly in these times, feels like where I need to be. So, it’s been an intersting couple of weeks, and I think the not-so-distant future is going to prove even more interesting and exciting!

A Great Blogger Turns Pro
Terrance of Republic of T has landed a job as a professional blogger. It literally could not happen to a nicer guy. Now, if only there were a market for angry, abrasive bloggers of average talent, I’d be all set.
