He’s Not On Our Side

There are many, many reasons why I love Margaret Cho . One of the main ones is that she can make me laugh like nobody’s business. We’re talking laugh ’til you wet your pants, tears roll down your face, and your sides hurt.

The newest reason I love Margaret Cho is this ad.

Love is love is love.

When we remove all the politics, the assumptions, the rage, the lies…we’re all the same.

But George W. Bush doesn’t believe in equal rights for all Americans. He wants to write hatred and prejudice into our nation’s constitution.

He says he’s fighting to preserve the American family. He may be fighting, but George W. Bush is not on our side.

I’m Margaret Cho, and I approved this message.

You go Margaret!

I know this much. When George W. Bush talks about preserving and protecting the American family, he doesn’t mean my American family. Whether the Federal Marriage Amendment stands a snowball’s chance in hell of passing or not, George W. Bush has made my family the enemy his his culture-war bid to hold on to power. He has used the bully pulpit of the presidency to incite bigotry and discrimination against my family. He’s done so willingly, and has shown no sign that he won’t continue to do so.

So, for me, a vote for George W. Bush is a vote against my family. He is not on our side.

  1. Carla says:

I feel you on “W” not wanting to perserve and protect our “families”. I feel he only wants to perserve and protect the millionaires anyway.

Just my 1 cent to throw in there.

By the way, I found your site via a Google search. And to my surprise, after quickly skimming through your blogroll, I have some of the same links listed in mine. I will be back to visit for sure. You have some very interesting reads.

  2. Margaret Cho’s bringing the State of Emergency Tour to London from November 30 (I’m currently lobbying to get the chance to review it for work; don’t know if I’ll be successful). Regardless, I’ll be catching her at the New Players Theatre at some point while she’s over.
