So, I tried the WordPress-to-Drupal Migration script I wrote about earlier. I got nothin’. Nothing appears to have happened. No error messages either. I can’t figure it out, but I’m sure it’s something I did wrong, or something I’m supposed to have on my server but don’t. Evidently I’m supposed to have something called “DB.php” on my sever, but of course I can’t find it anywhere.
Maybe I need different directions for using it with phpMyAdmin, I don’t know. But I’m sure it’s probably me. This business of migrating from one software to another is making me feel more techonologically inept than I thought I was.
I guess it wouldn’t be a problem if I could simply accept a blogging software that doesn’t trackback, at least without some jerry-rigged solution like what I’ve come up with. But, to me, a blog that doesn’t trackback just isn’t acceptable. If I’d known about the trackback issue with WordPress I wouldn’t have gone with it. I’d still be on Typepad at this point, but I wouldn’t be as frustrated as I am right now.
At this point I may just undertake the task of moving all 1600+ of my post over manually, one at a time.
Does it have to be so hard to do something that sounds so simple?
