Hurt Me, Tucker.
Well, it looks like Tucker Carlson, whom Jon Stewart beseeched to “stop hurting America” is going to keep on smacking us around, this time from a primetime slot on MSNBC.
I have somewhat mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I’m not thrilled that Carlson will have a new platform to run his right-wing mouth. But some of you might remember that I included Carlson on my list of “Hot (Talking) Heads.” (I was taken to task for not including Jon Stewart, whom I also adore, on that list, but Stewart doesn’t work for CNN and it was their anchors I was focused on.)
I’m not sure why Carlson has the appeal he does for me. I think it’s because he reminds me of the loafer-wearing, entitled, frat-boys I used to lust after in college, in my pre-therapy days. Old habits die hard, I guess.
As for Carlson’s MSNBC show, I might tune in just to see how it goes, but just to be safe I’ll watch it with the volume turned down.
