The Mini

Well, it’s here. The much whispered about “headless Mac” is here. I have to admit, it’s a pretty hot looking machine. The price, $499, is reasonable too. And they’re appealing directly to PC users to switch. If I wanted to, I could pick one up on my way home tonight, provided they’re in stock at the Mac Store already.

Except I don’t think it’s right for me. At least not right now. Let’s face it. I’m going to have to keep a PC, because I like games. So, even if I got the Mac Mini, I’d still have to buy a second monitor. So, the total price goes up, and I’m not exactly saving space.

But it is pretty hot looking.

  3. Well, you could get a KVM (Keyboard, Video, Monitor) switch to share your existing set with the mini mac. These are pretty cheap and with cables should not set you back more than say $40. Check this one out (although I don’t like the look of this one personally)

Way back in mthe last century, I was a Mac guy. But once I switched to PCs, couldn’t turn back. I like the power, the ease and the flexibility.

But the Apple products look fabulous. I almost want to buy them just for the wow factor.

    T –
Prime is right, get yourself a tiny KVM (CompUSA has *very* small ones for about $35.00) and share your keyboard, monitor and mouse … I bet that after a while you wont switch over to the PC except to play games (that’s all I do now LOL)

If you need help picking a KVM or related stuff, feel free to drop a line as always!

  6. I second what Mike says: a KVM switch would work nicely for hooking both computers up to one set of input devices and monitor.
