I just read over my last several posts and realized that anyone new to my blog today might read them and determine that I’m a bitter, angry man. Well, I am bitter and angry today. Maybe I should push myself away from the keyboard, stop reading the news for the rest of the day, and go get some fresh air or something.
And maybe a cookie.
…or a wonderful slice of carrot cake, with real cream cheese frosting. YUM!
Well….like the old saying goes, T–and let me play with it:
If you’re not bitter, you’re not paying attention.
My supervisor at work who is really a cool guy. (except for the fact he supported Bush) Commented to me that I have been angry and bitter since the election and was wondering when I would “snap out of it”.
I told him that losing the election wasn’t what made me feel so bad but rather watching an unchecked, madman move this country towards global war and his out of control spending moving us ever closer to economic ruin. Watching Bush lie day after day and the feeling of being powerless to do anything about it was depressing the hell out of me.
We talked for about two hours that morning, no arguments, no debates we just talked. And we covered everything from the begining. He allowed me to use his computer and bring up news stories not seen in mainstream media. We read European news, we visited several blogs (including this one) By the time we got to current news and he saw pictures of soldiers digging through trash to armor thier humvee’s along side pictures of Bush spending 45 million on parties. His eyes had already started to tear up.
He knows he made a mistake. He knows this country is headed down the wrong road. And now he feels powerless to stop it.
So you better make reservations for three because we’ll both be joining you at that table.
