Out of Touch

Legal Memo-Random has a post up that truly brings home to me just our “out of touch with the mainstream” I am.

According to a recent report from the Tax Foundation, the average American spent more on lotteries in 2002 than on reading materials or movies, and more than half of Americans play the odds. [emphasis added]

Man, are my priorities out of whack. If nothing else, lottery tickets would have taken up less space than all those books I bought last year.

Yeah, but think of how much pleasure the mob will derive from burning your books when the Dominionist revolution comes. The lottery tickets would have just been pitched as you lost.

    Let’s see….2004

I played the Lotto twice $5 each time Total $10
    I bought 1 book (Photoshop7 WOW) Total $50
    I bought 2 CD’s Michael McDonald Motown I & II Total $30

That’s $80 on books and music $10 on Lotto

Damn, I’m way out of whack, I better run off and buy more lotto tickets so I can pretend I’m normal.
