I’ll admit that I’ve been through a few of these stages at different times. However, working for a company that makes blogging tools, etc., has not spelled the death of this blog.
I think there must be a slightly different “lifecycle” for…I guess you’d call it “academic blogging.” For me it began “Stage 1: Start a blog to become more intentional and acountable about the development of your research ideas. Only you, your Mom, and your academic advisor read the blog. Apart from some research-related posts, you write mainly about how stressful being a graduate student/trying to get tenure/dealing with clueless students is…”
