It turns out that the family member I mentioned earlier, my dad, does indeed have cancer, and is scheduled to undergo surgery today.
The good news is that doctors say the cancer has not spread. So hopefully they’ll be able to remove it completely and — after a long recovery — my dad will be ok.
Anyway, if you’re reading this, I’ll ask you to hold positive thought for me and my family today.

I’m not a religious man, but I’ll send positive vibes for you and yours. My dad is half-way through his radiation therapy; so far, so good.
