Bad Reality TV Averted

Drew Barrymore may have hit rehab before she hit puberty, but at least she’s sober and sane enough to see bad reality tv about to happen and put a stop to it. Says Liz Smith:

When Drew found out that a 23-year-old girl was about to have plastic surgery to look like her, for MTV’s loathsome “I Want a Famous Face” show, the actress tracked down the young woman’s phone number. Drew begged her to reconsider: “You are beautiful just as you are, as yourself.”

Life & Style magazine reports that Drew was so convincing, so earnest in her plea to save this girl from unnecessary surgery, that the potential patient relented and cancelled her Drew-like transformation.

Whew. Now if we could just put the kibosh on a few more of these shows….

Oh, sure, the old “You’re beautiful just as you are” shtick. Personally, I believe the sad truth is that Drew Barrymore is a selfish, selfish girl and wants to keep her looks and her success all to herself. Well, just you wait, Ms. Barrymore! Once I get my Drewface, there’ll be one more actor/producer/director/starlet to contend with!

Wow that was really classy of Drew Barrymore

I saw this show when a girl wanted a famous face like Carmen Elektra. The girl was already unbelievably beautiful so she must have had some emotional problems to want to change her appearance.
