They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and that may be doubly so when it comes to blogs. Along those lines, I’ve been thinking for the last month or so about adding a new feature to this blog. Atrios has his “wanker of the day” and The People’s Republic of Seabrook has its Dumbass Awards. Along those lines I’m hereby inaugurating my very own Asshat Awards, because there are so many people deserving of such awards, and so few awards to go around.
Whats’ an “asshat” you ask? I’ve found fairly reasonable definitions here, here and here. I’m pretty much using it in this sense.

I can’t say just how often this award will be announced, but I imagine there will be plenty of opportunities and no end of deserving recipients. I already have one possible recipient in mind this week, but I’m always open to recommendations. Wanna nominate someone? Drop me a line, or leave a comment, preferably with a link and info on what makes the person or persons so deserving. And, for the record, I’m taking myself out of the running, though once in a whileI may deserve a nomination myself.
