I’m not much of a DJ, but this seems like a bit of a harsh review to me.
A man has been jailed for three months after attacking a DJ who played what the attacker thought was a gay song.
Roy Nash, 48, attacked Andrew Cleeson after he began playing Wham hit Wake Me Up Before You Go Go at a Dorset club.
According to The Sun newspaper, Nash took offence at the song because he believed it made the club sound like a “gay night”.
He had previously complained about the music, which included hits from the past 3 decades, saying some of it was “too gay”, prosecutors claimed.
"Wake Me Up Before You Go Go"? Geez. Yeah, it’s a pretty gay song alright, but it hardly warrants a beat down.
Reminds me of my days deejaying at the campus radio station in college. I was playing a set of dance music, wrapping up with something from Erasure, when the requestion line rang. On the other end was this irate guy who requested that I "stop playing all that faggot music and play something with bass and guitars."
So, I complied. I put on something by Morrisey.
Nicely spun.
Something with bass & guitars? REM? Husker Du?
That is too funny (not the beat-down, the Morrisey).
Morriesy?
What? You couldn’t find Streisand?
