The New Gay Anchor

One of the things about living in D.C. — interesting or irritating, depending on your viewpoint — is that I get to be in the vicinity of people who are or soon will be famous. A while back I posted about my favorite "talking heads" on the news — when I get around to watching it that is. Among them was one that I happened to know, or to have at least met, years ago. Jason Bellini. (Good grief. He’s got his own entry in WikiPedia, for crisesakes. I don’t. Ah, fame) His bio seems to have gone missing from CNN, but that’s probably because he’s leaving CNN to sit behind the anchor desk at Logo, the new gay network.

CNN correspondent Jason Bellini has been named the new anchor for Logo’s network news.

The openly gay Bellini will work out of parent company CBS’s New York newsroom to present a daily newscast on the gay network.

Belllini will front three-to-five-minute mini newscasts which will run at various times throughout day on Logo, which debuted in June.

Good for him. Jason’s a great pick for the job. After all, he’s intelligent, accomplished (check out the review of his career in the article linked above), and very easy on the eyes.

Of course, I can’t say I knew him well. He was friends with a former roomate of mine, and with some other friends of mine. And we were introduced to each other several times, but Jason never managed to remember my name or that we’d met previously. I guess I made quite an impression.

Oh well, if nothing else, that’s one more person of whom I can say "I knew him when…."

Hehe, well, I managed to sleep with him twice but he’s too cool to mingle with people like me.

  2. Terrance Says:

Oh, I wanted to, as I recall. (I was single then.) But I heard he wasn’t attracted to black guys, so I never bothered.
