Anderson
I’ve expressed my admiration for Anderson Cooper here before, but I gotta say it again.
You have to read the transcript and see the video of his interview with Sen. Landrieu (who expressed her thanks to president Bush throughout).

A little something about you, the author. Nothing lengthy, just an overview.

I think we need to understand that Sen Landrieu is now in a position of needing maximum help from the Federal Government. Knowing the nature of Pres. Bush, you cannot both publically lambaste him AND call for a huge relief package.
It is, unfortunate perhaps, very appropriate for the senator to say whatever she needs to to promote the most help for her state. The senator cannot know enough, at this point, what is causal for the inability of officials to get appropriate relief to New Orleans.
Sen Landrieu loves Louisiana. I have no doubt she will be an attack dog when investigations identify the reasons for lassitude in getting all kinds of aid to the city of New Orleans. When the time comes, she will call for heads to roll in the Bush administration.
I agree with you, T., that it is great and refreshing that Anderson Cooper asks penetrating questions.

I’m still impressed with the mixture of seething anger, desperation, and forced politness in Cooper’s voice. I normally think he’s an idiotic drip, but after that interview he just went up a notch.
