Rove Testifies
With rumors still swirling about pending indictments coming down in the Plame case this week, it looks like there may be something to it if the latest development is any indication. Karl Rove has agreed to testify again, but with no guarantee against indictment.
Presidential adviser Karl Rove has agreed to testify again about a CIA officer’s leaked identity — without a guarantee that he won’t be indicted.
People familiar with the investigation say special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has not made any decision yet on whether to file criminal charges against the longtime confidant of President Bush or others.
Rove has already made at least three grand jury appearances and his return at this late stage in the investigation is considered unusual. Also, he was not warned during his earlier appearances that the testimony he gave could be used against him.
