Theme Thoughts

I mentioned earlier that I’m working on some renovations to the blog. (I’m still open to feedback, BTW.) Those are still underway.

One of the things I’m thinking of changing is the theme. I’ve disabled the theme switcher, so now there’s only one theme. I’ve found a new one called Squible, that I’d like to adapt for this blog. You can see it in action at the demo blog. I’d love to hear what people think of this theme.

The main thing I’d need to do to adapt the theme for this blog — aside from changing the colors and adding a new header — is to figure out a way of incorporating my adstrip from BlogAds. I have a coup of ideas on how to do that, but if anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears.

Your pages take an awfully long time to load….

I don’t care for the Squibble template– I don’t think it’s attractive to the eye at all.

My suggestion is to declutter your gutters. Keep your feeds and whatever advertisements you decide to keep on your main page, but put all of your linked journals on a separate page– the list is just obscenely long. :)
