Don't be discouraged by what you wrote in the heat of the moment. (I get physically ill sometimes when I read the crap I've written.) As a megaselling author reminds new writers, I can fix a bad page, I can't fix a blank page. Have you read any writing books by Sol Stein? I highly recommend him. I read On Writing three times. The first time I didn't know enough to understand what I didn't know, the second I understood more but couldn't figure out how to apply it, and the third time, several years later, I finally got it.
