   They are simply stating out loud what they and many others like them have believed since the end of the Civil War. All the laws enacted since that time have been for the purpose of perpetuating the White race. This is hardly new. What is new is that they are discussing it openly.

   I’ve been doing some reading lately on violent white supremacist groups; the similarities here are disturbing, even down to the language that’s used.

   I’m waiting for the chorus of voices singing “out of context!” to arise from the right. Of course, what they always mean by “out of context” was, “You weren’t supposed to be in the room when I said that.”

   I disagree, Bernie. What is new is the lack of outrage from the general public. Had someone said this a decade (or more) ago, Americans would’ve been up in arms about such a statement. But it ain’t so any longer. Nods of approval are happening over the dinner table now.
